About Sedlmayr

Chris Sedlmayr is head of the Web Development & Design department at Purple Oak..

When creating websites and applications he uses his trusty E - Texteditor as he believes you can't beat a beautifully hand coded site!

He has a keen interest in design, utilising Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash and a few other tools to aid his creative process. He has also been known to take the odd photo or two for use within certain sites, some of which remain as they were shot and others which undergo some form of reconstruction or editing. You can see some examples on our portfolio page

Programs we use

Firefox 2.0 is our browser of choice. It's fast, clean and configurable, unlike a few other browsers we could mention.
We do of course test our websites in a range of other browsers (Various version if Internet Explorer, Safari, Opera, Firefox included) and operating systems including Windows, Mac and Linux.

E-TextEditor Is the main program we use to create websites, it has great syntax highlighting, support for snippets and a built in revision control system.

We will use Flash to create any animations, such as for use within animated introductions or product showreels. We can create entire sites using Flash and where necessary we have done, but personally we favour XHTML.
Flash is also useful for creating dynamic application elements, we are currently experimenting with a few ideas and will show you how they turn out when the time comes.

We (being web developers), like to have a relaxing environment to work in, and we use foobar2000 to fill our office with music. Again it's highly configurable (due partly to the community creating plugins), very well equipped and has a tiny cpu footprint.
